Academic Probation Policy

Students in degree programs must maintain a 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) to graduate. Students whose Grade Point Average (GPA) falls below 3.0 in two successive trimesters or who fail to address outstanding incomplete grades, are subject to academic probation. Students failing to show improvement are subject to dismissal. More information about academic probation is available from the Academic Dean. Eluntabs reserves the right to dismiss students whose academic progress is unsatisfactory. Students who are dismissed for academic reasons normally cannot be re-admitted to a degree program.

Academic Advisors:
Every student at Eluntabs has an academic advisor who is a member of the school faculty. Advisors are assigned by the Academic Dean. Academic advisor is available to assist with course selection and other matters relating to academic program. Therefore it is important that student advisor at regular intervals in order to keep appraised of progress and of any significant problems encountered in program. Prior to registration each academic semester, the advisor’s written approval must be obtained for all theological work taken for transcript records. Twelve trimesters’ units is the normal full-time course load. The Academic Dean must approve any course load of more than 15 units. The advisor-student relationship may develop into a kind of tutorial for which academic credit may be appropriate.

Special Reading Courses:
Special reading courses may be arranged with individual faculty members in subject areas not otherwise included in regular course offerings. Normally, reading courses will not fulfill core requirements without the prior consent of the departmental convener. Permission of the academic Deans office is required for all reading courses. Request forms are available from the Assistant Academic Dean.

Transfer Credit Policy:
A student who has taken graduate courses in theology not longer than six years prior to matriculation may petition for advanced placement. This should normally be included in the admission materials. No units will be transferred which have already been counted towards another degree. No units will be considered for transfer which are not from other institutions of higher learning or were not attained at a graduate level petitions for transfer credit are available from the Assistant Academic Dean.

EL-University of Theology and Biblical Seminary is God’s sent and God’s true representative for missions and ministries in Africa, in Nigeria, in Abia State, in Aba south and in Aba zone. Students admissions and matriculations are great privileges to those who want to work for God almighty. The need for progress and advancement is now called for and become.

Modern Languages:
Academic credit for basic modern language study is not applicable to JSTB degree programs.

Orientation:
The week preceding the opening of the Trimester is devoted to an orientation program and general registration for the trimester. This week provides students with the opportunity to acquaint themselves with both Eltheco and the Eluntabs. Incoming students meet with their advisors during this tie to prepare their curse of studies prior to registration. The orientation program is required for entering students.

An orientation program is also available for those students entering in the 1st Trimester. These spring orientation meetings are usually held on one day in the week prior to the beginning of classes. Entering students meet with their academic advisors and enroll in courses during this week as well.

Leaves of Absence:
Students may request a leave of absence in writing from the academic Dean, stating fully the reasons for the request. A leave of absence indicates a break in a student’s program. A student may not graduate during a leave period and must return to active status in the trimester. He or she wishes to graduate, additional information in leaves, withdrawals, reinstatements and termination can be found in the student handbook.

Inclusive Language Policy:
The academic community of ELUNTABS recognizing that the language and images used in daily communication both form and reflect the way persons perceive, regard and treat one another, affirm the usage of unbiased and inclusive language in written oral and visual communication at ELUNTABS.

Sexual Harassment Policy:
This school of theology strives to be a place of work and study that embodies the journey of faith and the promotion of justice that is the mission of the society and the school is therefore committed to creating and maintaining a community in which all persons who participate in school programs and activities can work together in an atmosphere free of all forms of harassment, exploitation or intimidation including sexual. Every member of the school community should be aware that the school is strongly opposed to immorality, Fornication, secret relationship leading to unchristian character even sexual harassment and that such behaviour is prohibited both by law and by school policy. It is the intension of the school to take whatever action may be needed to prevent, correct and if necessary, discipline behaviour that violates this policy. The full text of the school’s sexual harassment policy is contained in both the student’s handbook and the Faculty Handbook which are distributed annually to the members of ELUNTABS community. Copies of the Handbook are available in the office of the Academic Dean and in ELGIGO GOSPEL BOOKSHOP AND BIBLE CENTRE.

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act:
Annually this school of Theology informs students of the family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. This Act with which the institution intends to comply fully was designated to protect the privacy of education records, to establish the right of students to inspect and review their education records and to provide guidelines for the correction of inaccurate or misleading data through informal and formal hearings. Students also have the right to file complaints with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act Office (FERPA) concerning alleged failures by the institution to comply with the Act.

Local policy explains in detail the procedures to be used by the institution for compliance with the provisions of the Act. Copies of the policy can be found in the Academics Dean’s office. The policy is also printed in the Student Handbook. The Academic Dean’s Office maintains a Directory of records, which lists all education records maintained on students by this institution.

Crime Awareness and Campus Security:
Annually, this holiness School of Theology provides students with information on crime awareness and Campus security in compliance with the Crime Awareness and Campus Security.

Students of EL University of Theology and Biblical Seminary are trained to be unique, great and studious in all their activities and in all their academic programs during and after their studies in this great institution. Each student is expected to become whom God created him to become during and after his or her studies as stated below:-

Must be charismatic, visionary, powerful, successful in ministry, mission oriented and always prayerful.

EL UNIVERSITY OF THEOLOGY AND BIBLICAL SEMINARY WITH HER SYSTEM OF ADMISSION AND REQUIREMENTS.

EL-University of Theology and Biblical Seminary welcomes inquiries about the school and the programs of study offered. Information and application materials can be obtained from Office of Admission. Prospective students are invited and encouraged to visit ELUNTABS. Arrangement can be made with the Director of Admissions a few weeks prior to your visit.

ELUNTABS has a policy of “rolling admissions”. When an applicant’s file is complete. The application is reviewed by the admissions committee, whose members advise the Academic Dean about the application. The application and all supporting documents (as listed below) must be received before the Admissions Committee will review the file. The Academic Dean will respond to each applicant as soon as an admissions decision is reached.

ELUNTABS will not release or return any admissions material to the applicant. The admission process is confidential and reasons are not given for the denial of an applicant. This is a holiness Bible College in Nigeria.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
All persons applying to the M.Div, M.T.S. Th.M, S.T.L or S.T.D. degree programs must supply the following:

Completed Application for Admission.
Non-refundable application fee of N30,000
A personal statement of purpose explaining why you are applying to ELUNTABS for graduate theological studies. Describe your background (academic training, ministerial experience, your current work) and your future career plans. M.Div. applicants, please see special requirement below.
Official transcripts for all post-secondary academic work.
Two letters of recommendation addressing your academic qualifications for the program to which you are applying. Preferably these letters would be from persons who recently taught you. If you been out of school for an extended period of time, a recommendation from your employer, a professional colleague, or a church or community leader will be acceptable. For those students applying to the Master of Divinity program, the second letter should address your personal ministerial qualifications for admission to EL University of Theology and Biblical Seminary of Africa.
Students whose language is not English must demonstrate their ability to speak and write English by furnishing one of the following:- (1) Certification that they have passed at least one course taught in English in a country where English is the native language. (2) Certification that they have completed a degree program where English is the medium of instruction or (3) acceptable scores on the Educational testing services Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL). Overseas information about the TOEFL examination can be obtained.

Being admitted by the authority of Eluntabs, the student shall be equipped, built and be totally developed to his apex ministerial level with necessary spiritual Biblical and ministerial knowledge in order to become whom God chose him to become and achieve all that the Holy Spirit shall lead him to achieve successfully with the following underlisted potentials and knowledge.

Our students shall be taught on how to focus on Christ.
Our students shall be taught on how to create visions
Our students shall be taught on how to absorb mission.
Our students shall be taught on how to set and how to score goals.
Our students shall be taught on how to plan.
Our students shall be taught on how to lead, delegate and to achieve meaningful in ministry.
Shall be helped on how to be involved in practical ministries and become practical example.
Secrets of diligence and success shall be made plain to our students.
Shall be enlightened on how to carry the cross.
Shall be exposed on how to walk and work by faith, in faith and with faith.
Shall be exposed to the key of successful ministry.
Shall be encouraged never to quit because of lack of fund or lack of helpers.
Shall be educated on the power of focus and strategies and shall be advised never to sleep or be idle or feel tired at any time in ministry.
Shall be advised on the benefits of godly counseling and the dangers of ungodly advice.
Our students shall be exposed on how to focus on God, obey God, believe God, work and walk with God and see how great and fruitful his life ministry and vision shall become.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS BY PROGRAM

In lieu of a statement of purpose, applicants are asked to submit a 500 word easy explaining reasons for applying, in terms of background (academic training and ministerial experience), future plans and the appropriateness of ministerial studies at this time in life. Current studies applying to the ELUNTABS may request a letter from their academic advisor in lieu of the letters of recommendation.Applicants:
Applicants should provide documentary evidence of having fulfilled the philosophy and language requirements. Current students applying may request a letter from their academic advisor in lieu of the letters of recommendation which are necessary for their admission and shall also register trust among the parties.

Candidates must show evidence of proficiency in one modern language, other than their native tongue, suitable for theological research. Candidates intending to specialize in Biblical studies are required to demonstrate proficiency in one biblical language upon application. For the post graduate application, the applicants must submit a major research paper from the program.

Special Student Applicants Must provide:-

A completed Application for Admission
A non-refundable application fee
Official certification of a bachelor’s degree e.g. B.S., B.A., B.S.N. or any graduate theological degree, for those who intend to take courses for credit. Official transcripts are required.
One letter of recommendation from a person who knows you well, regarding your personal and academic qualifications for study.
A brief description of your academic and or ministerial background, indicating why you wish to study and any particular areas of interest you may have.

New Directions Applicants:
Follow the application procedure described under special student applicants above. In lieu of #5 please include a 750 – 1000 word autobiographical sketch emphasizing your personal development, including why you see the sabbatical programs helpful for you and your future ministry.

International applicants applying to begin studies must request a student Expense Budget from the ELUNTABS Admission Office to determine the amount to be documented.

Individuals who will be covering their own cost should submit a bank statement or letter from a bank official indicating that the application for sponsoring individual has at least the above amount available. Members of religious orders or those receiving monies from other sponsoring agencies or individuals should submit letter of guarantee from the responsible party or parties indicating their intent to cover the student’s full costs for the duration of the student’s studies. Further details about the financial information required before the form can be issued is available from the Admission Office.

As a general rule, international students should plan to have available for living expenses each year, in addition to tuition fees. All students who are non-immigrant student visa status must enroll for a full course load (12 trimester units – most course are 3 units each) during each term the student is here. Questions concerning visa and immigration matters should be directed to the Assistant Academic Dean.

Other visa categories may be available to you if you will be studying for only one trimester part-time. You may also wish to investigate the religious worker visa if you are a member of a religious community that has a community present. Additional information is available from Admission Office, the Assistant Academic Dean.

Proper admission is a necessity and every student is advised to have proper enrollment and assured true and satisfied admission in this university or any other theological institution under EL Group of Theological Institutions (ELGROTHIN) which is an approved unit in EL Group of International Gospel Organization (ELGIGO) which is the divine vision and manifested missions of Rev. Prof. Emma Ononuju, the greatest visioner of EL University of Theology and Biblical Seminary of Africa. The issues of admission and students matters are in focus.

The authority of EL University of Theology and Biblical Seminary recognizes the economic pressures in our society and feels much on the difficult situations the students are presently passing through and have mapped out ways to assist and to make things very easy for each student who shall cooperate with such system.

Nevertheless, INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MISSIONS is available to help those who can work on mission fields or go into cross cultural ministries in foreign lands, who also shall be trained free of charge without tuition fees, but fully on scholarship.

FINANCIAL AID

As a private educational institution, we recognizes that many students need financial assistance beyond their own available resources to meet the cost of a graduate education. To assist students in meeting their academic goals, we offer tuition grants and special scholarships to its students on an annual basis. All scholarship and grant monies awarded are tuition-restricted scholarships and tuition grants are made on a racially and sexually non-discriminatory basis. Students must be enrolled at least halftime in a degree or certificate program to be considered for funds. Special students who are seeking admission to a degree program will be considered for financial aid if funding is available.

NEW STUDENTS:
Only students who have applied and been admitted are considered for financial assistance. To apply for financial aid complete the financial aid application, by the priority deadline, which is March of every year. Financial Aid Applications may be obtained from the office of admissions. Special scholarships may require additional application materials. Refer to the office of Admissions for information.

SPIRITUAL FOCUS OF OUR INSTITUTION ON AFRICAN WOMEN MINISTRIES

The focus of Eluntabs of the women gospel ministers in Africa and the quality of women ministries as are seen in the Bible. We have many lady evangelists, lady Bishops, lady prophets, lady Apostles and lady General overseers in African churches that are not really trained and occupy the pulpit on top of sin, deceit and hypocrisy. Our aim is for the called ladies in Africa to occupy God’s business than to occupy church posts which has killed many ministers and many churches in Africa.

ELUNTABS VISION ON WOMEN MINISTRIES IN AFRICA

That both the ministers and their ministries shall be Bible based with fear of God and Christ centeredness.
That proper theological training should accompany them in order to help them become true disciples of Christ.
That proper mentorship of the women ministers should be seen as a priority which shall make them understand the rudiments of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
That clearliness shall be drawn between the gospel of Jesus Christ and African traditional religion, as ignorance in many African ladies has mixed the two, therefore brought confusions on which is right among the two.
That the emphasis of the gospel of Jesus Christ is salvation from sins and not money which is the gang up of Judas as we see many preachers today changing from salvation to finance.
